As an Ambassador Salon for Wigs for Kids, the Cutting Lounge is proud to join a select group of professionals throughout the country working to help children suffering from hair loss to “look themselves and live their lives.”
Wigs for Kids started over 30 years ago when a hairdresser named Jeffrey Paul’s niece was diagnosed with leukemia and she was worried about losing her hair. He promised to help! (Read the full story of Wigs for Kids here).
Wigs for Kids provides Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues, at no cost to children or their families.
The following requirements must be met in order to make a hair donation to Wigs for Kids:
The ponytail that will be cut must be a minimum of 12 inches.
Hair must be clean and dry. Wet hair will mold in shipping and will be thrown away.
Hair cannot be permed, color-treated, or highlighted. Temporary coloring or highlights that washout are acceptable, but must be completely washed out before cutting.
The Cutting Lounge staff are trained in the proper way to cut hair and package the donation, to ensure it will be usable in the Wigs for Kids Hair Replacement Systems.
Not sure what style you want after donating your hair? We can help! We are happy to consult with you about your desired “after” look!
**As a token of our appreciation of your donation, we offer a 10% discount on all Services.**
