Wigs for KidsAs an Ambassador Salon for Wigs for Kids, the Cutting Lounge is proud to join a select group of professionals throughout the country working to help children suffering from hair loss to “look themselves and live their lives.”
Wigs for Kids started over 30 years ago when a hairdresser named Jeffrey Paul’s niece was diagnosed with leukemia and she was worried about losing her hair. He promised to help! (Read the full story of Wigs for Kids here). Wigs for Kids provides Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues, at no cost to children or their families. Packs For KidsThe Packs for Kids Program provides food supplements for children and families in need.
This is done by giving them backpacks filled with a variety of food items. They accept Food Donations, Cash Donations, and Backpack Donations. |
Justice and SoulThe Justice and Soul Foundation is actively working to restore hope in the lives of sexually exploited victims worldwide. They strive to transform survivors, and those at-risk into confident, self-sufficient and financially independent individuals by teaching them cosmetology, (hair, make-up, and nails), business, and life skills.
They have established a high-end western-style salon and academy Phnom Penh, Cambodia, currently staffed by western-trained stylists, AND they have begun a domestic program (Seattle area) where they are working with American survivors of sex trafficking. It is an apprentice program and on completion the students will have a license in cosmetology and be able to work in an industry that they are proud of. Local nonprofits have told them that the need for these services is great. Without job training, many survivors have a hard time financially and often fall back into the life of prostitution. |
